Child guards keep children and pets safe. They are easy to assemble and install. Over the warmer months they can easily be stored.
For households with smaller pets and / or toddlers the mesh child guards are recommended. With these guards it is simply not possible for little fingers to touch the heat source.
For households with larger pets and / or children with an awareness of heat, either the rod or mesh child guards are appropriate. The rod guards will prevent accidental touching of the heat source but they won't prevent a small arm reaching through the gaps.
